The Quest for Healthier, Stronger Nails

It's no secret, doing your own mani's and pedi's is tons cheaper than going to a spa/salon. Of course while its fun having my nails done professionally, let's be realistic: Most of the time I don't have hours to sit in a salon.
The solution?
- Do my own nails!
The problem?
- My thin, and brittle nails are constantly breaking and "peeling" away.
I have to admit that I was a constant nail-bitter growing up. On occasion, I still revert back to my old ways. It was the worst habit to have especially during my high school years. While in college, I discovered that I significantly cut down my nail-biting whenever I wore nail polish. In fact, I wouldn't nibble on them at all for fear of messing up the polish.

Fueled by this revelation (and by a younger sister's growing nail polish obsession), I started researching base coats, top coats, and nail treatments. My nails started growing longer and although I say they're still thin and brittle, there's been a significant improvement in overall nail health since I started taking care of my nails [yeah, just imagine how badly cared for they were previously].

Hopefully, I'll be able to update my manicure/nail polish changes weekly or as often as I switch out colors and test different brands of polish.

Thanks for joining me on my quest for healthier, stronger nails!
