Smoldering Sugar Coat

Hello, fellow bloggers! I'm back with yet another nail polish post on the look I wore for the majority of last week.
Wet-n-Wild's Sugar Coat and Revlon's Smoldering both purchased at  Walgreens.
As you can see above, I did a spin on the classic french manicure. For the base color, I chose to do two coats of Wet-n-Wild's Sugar Coat which is a very light pink. Its definitely lighter than a baby pink. In a previous nail polish post, I mentioned that I purchased three colors from Wet-n-Wild's Spring 2012 collection. This is one of them. While I was impressed with the opacity of "I Need A Refresh-Mint" after just one coat, "Sugar Coat" definitely requires at least two semi-thick coats, maybe even three thinner ones.

For the tips of my nails, I chose Revlon's Smoldering mainly because it was the newest addition to my collection. It's a beautiful silvery pink-purple/green duo-chrome metallic color. I do find that a lot of Revlon's metallic colors are kind of thin and this one is no exception. If I was going to wear this color on its own, I think I'd put a thin black base color under "Smoldering" to see if that makes a difference. For this manicure, I think I got away with one slightly thick coat of "Smoldering" over "Sugar Coat."

I honestly love this color combo. At certain angles, "Smoldering" looks like a shimmery pink-purple which compliments "Sugar coat" wonderfully. At other angles, the contrast of the green and the pink in "Sugar Coat" makes the green really stand out.
Here's a close-up view.
Next time, I'll try to remember to take a few photos with flash and to adjust my lighting so you can see the polish better, especially the duo-chrome.
